The Bride
It’s your day! Look beautiful in the gown of your dreams
So many choices! Selecting your bridal gown involves a host of decisions. We will make it enjoyable by listening to your ideas and offering you gowns that match your description of the gown of your dreams.
Where do you start? We recommend that you begin with a silhouette you think you’ll like and that will be the most flattering. Then keep an open mind.
You want your wedding dress to be unique – just as you are. That’s why we offer you a full array of silhouettes, styles and fabrics from a broad collection of top designers.

Bride’s Style Guide
Consider these tips when choosing your gown and accessories:
- Add a splash of color to your wardrobe with metallic or bright- colored shoes. Current favorites are metallic silver and gold, hot pink, red and sky blue.
- Drop waists will elongate your torso.
- Long trains are usually worn at formal weddings. Sweep or chapel trains are usually worn at outdoor weddings. However, the length selected is completely at the bride’s discretion.
- Consider your body type when shopping for a gown. Your professional bridal consultant will assist you in selecting the best silhouette for your shape.
- Choose accessories that are comparable to what you wear every day. For example, if you wear small jewelry, you should wear that for your wedding. If you like a lot of jewelry, you can wear more bling.

Themed wedding recommendations include:
-
Victorian – gowns with more lace and pouf.
-
Western – lace, organza, pick-up skirts and rosettes.
-
Historic era – chic gowns with delicate layers and flower details that bring back the classic styles worn by movie icons like Audrey Hepburn and Greta Garbo.
-
Destination – chiffon or silk satin with sleek lines and minimal embellishment or beaded lace, even tea-length gowns.
-
Vintage – ivory shades, crochet knits, free-flowing or mermaid silhouettes.
Second-Time Brides
If this is not your first trip down the aisle, you may want a gown that offers a sophisticated, elegant look with less embellishment. Depending on how formal your wedding will be, you might also select a shorter dress that can be worn for future dressy occasions.
At the Gown Gallery we will help you find exactly the look you want.
Your Timeline
Recommended Timeline – Wedding gowns usually take 4 to 6 months to come in once ordered. We recommend that you order your wedding dress 9 to 12 months before your wedding to allow time for alterations and other wedding planning.
Faster Timeline – We are also expert at dressing brides in shorter timelines, and our designers work endlessly to make sure you still have the gown of your dreams. (Remember, though, that there may be rush charges.)
As the bride, you are the center of the day, so your style pulls everything together. Once you decide on your wedding dress, you can choose bridesmaids’dresses, mothers’ gowns, tuxedos and flower girl dresses to complement your look.
Give a special thank-you gift to your bridesmaids
Brides often give their bridesmaids a gift in appreciation of their support on this special day. What better gift than a timeless pearl necklace or Swarovski crystal bracelet?
Our jewelry designers can create a customized necklace and earring set just for you and your bridesmaids.
